Title: alternator badge

thinking of changing alternator badge on cb500 due to scrapes etc, has anybody done it, if so how did you. thanx

Its held on by 3 pins which locate in three holes in main casting held secure by little spring clips. Just carefully prise off and new one just pushes on, might need new clips.

its help in by three pins on the back of the "badge" which loccate into three we retaining clips that are in the body of the alternator cover. It should ease off using a thin bladed screwdriver .. using a cloth underneath it to protect the casing. If buying a new badge you might want to get 3 new clips as well (part 3 in attached diagram.  Link to parts diagram :
