Hi Julie, which kind of clear coat? 2K? UV filter? Does it stick to polished alu, which is brushed afterwards?

Kind regards,

Emiel
Any lacquer will do but it will not stick to 'polished' alloy, it has to be finished to a satin finish for it to stick.

I found the sintered pads glazed over before they got bedded in. Had to remove them and rough them up a bit with sand paper to help them on their way.

Yep, I know someone that pulls in to a filling station, full head lights on, tail light on,  just taken there hand off the brake lever, indicator still flashing and then turns the key to off. No name mentioned  ;D ;D ;D
These batteries do take some stick  ;)

That may be the case but I never have trouble starting the bike with all the above still on !!! 🙂🙂🙂

No 3. Send the stanchions to Phillpots for hard chroming. Pattern ones are really not that good, especially if made in Italy.

No 4. Powdercoat in satin black (closest to original finish) but check with the company that's doing the work as there is satin and there is satin !!!

No 1. Claw hammer to pull rivet off, if you have not got the key, you will need to drill the lock out.

No 2. Fit whatever was fitted as standard.

CB350/400 / Re: 400-4 Tappet Adjustment using thread pitch

Out of curiosity Ian, I will try the 36 degree rotation next time I adjust the tappets on Hettie, always willing to learn something new. (Don't tell Trig I'm going to try your way, he will give me a lecture on the threads being pulled up on tightening 😭😭😭)

Why not just use feeler gauges?. Alot easier than trying to work out 36 degrees of something hidden down in a black hole. Or, is it just me........And yes, i do use the perfect little tappet tool.

Core Motorcycle Seating.

Thought I would share a link to this company. Not used them myself but have heard excellent things about their work and service.

CB750 / Re: F2 tank with K6 carbs, problem
« on: June 05, 2018, 08:48:19 AM »
I don't believe you did that Trig! A man of your skills and reputation resorting to a bodge like that, or is it a case of the customer not wanting to spend what's needed to do the job properly?
Trig IS the customer Hairy. Ita a bitsa he is buildings for himself out of bikes / bits laying around at home. You should know he would never, ever do a bodge on anything belonging to a customer.

I drain and flush my tanks twice yearly, and use a fuel stabilizer, so there is no rubbish to get through, plus i never shit in the tank meaning none of that blocks the pipes either. ;)

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I had 2 of them go on my carbs, little blighters. Trig sorted it but I think if you're doing it with the carbs on the bike, swarf getting in is the biggest problem.
Just seen yours are off the bike, so forget that last comment  ;D

Inline filters still clog if they have s**t going through them from the tank. All you're doing is moving the problem further down the line 😭😭😭
