To fit them you just remove the lever & feed it in - it has a slot that slides into the lever bracket.

Mine fitted but I had to file the end pin down very slightly to get it to work properly.

The wiring colours were different but easy to see how it connected - only two wires!

You know what Ted, that could make sense as there definitely wasn’t one when I dismantled the bike, has a brake switch that looks jut like that though.

Off to get the parts manual!

I am after the above clip described as an 8 mm pin in the parts book ideally in stainless.

Can anyone tell me where I might be able to source a couple of these at sensible money?

In the short term I could use a split pin - I prefer to use the original style of clip - not sure what they are an called S pin?

red/green is the clutch lever switch.
light green /red is the neutral light wire
Thank you, I can’t see where to connect them but that’s now a problem for the weekend. I wasn’t ready for this to stump me but it has… well and truly!

I think the back story qualifies it for an Out & About Ted👍

As an addendum to the story way back in 1969/70 I collected a brand new Mini Cooper S from Kennings on Queeen street Derby using trade plates (closed decades ago) it was a blue & white one. I drove the vehicle to the garage were I was working during the summer holidays - a Vauxhall Dealer (Allsops)on Bold Lane Derby. The vehicle was bought by an 18 year old lad - yes it was Neil Wheal.

Never saw the Neil or the car until 1973/4 when I saw it advertised in the local paper. I viewed the car but it had a cracked sump that had been bodged with glass fiber - at that time I had no facilites to remove the engine to fix it so I put my best mate onto the car as it was a one owner vehicle. The photo below is me (Navigator) with my mate at the start of the local DFS rally start line - circa 1974/5  yep it was Neils Cooper S - its a small world.

Interesting post! I can't help wondering how do they preserve a fish to go on the wall, they haven't got a pelt or something like other animals.

The lad Neil  went on to become an acomplished amateur Taxidermist this link explains the process for fish.
