Is it just me or does everyone else find the rubbers on the end of these things Fing useless.
It's a good job I have a few including a Gunson drill attached one as they end up getting thrown all over the garage.
RANT OVER >:( >:( >:( >:(

Get some heavy duty Velcro. Cut it to the valve size and size of the rubber. You have to keep replacing it but it's better than trying to use the useless rubbers which never stick to the valve.

That's how my dad showed me and i guess that he learned that in the 1950's while in the Army.

So looking at this everyone is of the same thinking, they are crap.
Don't think they have changed since I was an apprentice back in 77.
Got to come up with the solution, dragons den here I come ;D

Certainly in agreement over the useless suckers. Some manufacturers obviously thought the same. The humble Reliant motor company (Which was actually the last true British motor manufacturer operating in this country!) had a slot in the valve heads facing the combustion chamber to allow the use of a large screwdriver to be used to lap the valves, worked rather well I seem to recall. ;D ;D

I've never got on with them either. They may work on larger car valves but are useless on piddly little 400 ones.
