I am just finishing a CB750K1 and have fitted a number 8 bolt kit. I have one bolt left which is a M6x20 for the rear brake peddle adjuster but, it seems a bit short as the bracket that it threads through is about 5mm and the locking nut is 4mm. Only leaving 11mm for adjustment. This seems not a lot of adjustment.
Anyone have a original bolt that they could give me the measurement from?

Graham , the No.8 bolt kit to my knowledge is for Sandcast and some early K0's only. Interestingly my CB250K0 and 350k1 have quite a number of these rare bolts too with the large No.8 stamped into the hex head.
My sand-cast 4/69 Parts Mnual does not show a bolt fitted or the K,K1, .. see attached.
When a bolt is fitted it is M6x20 PN 92000-06020
Will check my brake pedal later...
Just checked mine and it has not got a bolt fitted (10/69 build)

Not sure My 750K0 is in a million bits so over to Pete/James/Mick etc. to tell you if one is fitted to theirs. I can't see anything near the brake pedal mount on my K0 frame to mount one and I can't see anything in the 4/69 parts book or the combined K/K1/K2 one either
.
Pretty certain that the K1 did not have the large No.8 style head bolts fitted though.

;) oddjob is bang on and its only for the k2 and probably later models

check out your second pic ash its number 16 its on the brake section of book its not on the frame section
@ trigger im sure its just to stop the brake pedal hitting the exhaust, and not an actual adjuster for the brakes
though i aint seen one in years so i could be wrong :-\

Yes I saw that part Steff but my point is I don't think the K0 or K1 had an adjustment bolt at all and Graham is talking about a K1 but my bike is in pieces so i can't check!

Just looked on csmnl and its seems the 6x20 goes in the brake lever and not the frame for k0 and k1.Later models goes in frame bracket but they do not list part numbers for the k0 and k1

My K1's don't have this bolt the brake peddle stops on the footrest chipping the chrome in the process.

;) ok ash i see where you are coming from now @ trigger throw it as far as possible you dont need it lol

In the cycleserve manual it states that the bolt is for brake pedal height adjustment. Honda started fitting them toward the end of K1 production, and the revised models had an extra tongue part for the bolt to abut against. If your sandcast/K0/early K1 has the brake pedal with the tongue, it's been replaced with a later part. So those of you serious restorers check it out, you may have the wrong part fitted! >:D

This K1 has the same brake peddle and has the tag on the frame for a bolt. As seen here number 16 > http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb750k1-england_model14355/partslist/F17.html#results

Trig
Just looked the k1 brake pedal has a 300 number where as the k2 is 341 and all after then superseeded your favourite word

Hmm I went of the Genuine Honda Parts Manuals link I have posted millions of times on here. Scroll down past K3 onwards to K,K1 &K2 parts manuals for a comparison of the early models

Perhaps yours is a very late K1. CMSNL parts list are great generally but they sometimes have errors in my experience.
whatever, it seems to be the correct bolt for the later bikes fitted with it.

Ash, i even have it on the microfiche for a UK K1. And the bracket that it goes through is on the frame. Confussing
