Those are EBC FA13. I had them decades ago and replaced them soon thereafter (pic). They sqeal like a pig. Also you need to remove paint from the sides and chamfer them somewhat.
I now have SBS Street Organic 501HF. Mwah... ok, but nothing special.

Hi All,

I need some brake pads for my 1976 CB550, just OEM quality is fine, I don't need anything fancy, any recommends?

DS ones look ok?

I'm trying to fit my new Koso multifunction gauge and daytona speed sensor but have cone across a few queries.  First one, is there a permanent live in the headlight I can tap power from?

The three wires from the speed sensor don't correspond with the three from the gauge, they must be live signal and earth I presume but I've no way of knowing which is which on the koso side so any way of finding out would be great.

Then there is the rpm signal that I'm getting from the coil, the instructions are so confusing I don't understand what I'm meant to be doing here at all.

A bit of a fraught existence then for the engine in previous ownership  :)

Hopefully you get all the details sorted and back to more cohesive running.

Data says stroke of 450 is 57.8mm ..... in comparison to a 650 Bonneville @ 82mm, which is a huge difference in linear piston speed and giving the short stroke Honda an easier time, in kinetic terms, at any rpm. Both about 70mm bore too.

Crank rotation faster, but pistons moving slower sounds stressful, but mechanical effect is more gentle.

Also 360 degree crank vs 180 to give significant difference in balance at half stroke point in rotation.

Thanks for the input guys. I thought I had bought a wrong set of new dials for my F2, and the ones on  now a wrong replacement by someone down the line, or worse the speedo off a different bike. But it is clear I'm ok after all!  ;D

Thats the big difference mate, old british iron was designed for ocasional sniff of the red but japanese was built to have its neck wrung, can remember the exact wording but the 500 owners handbook says it is fine to go into the red but not out of the top for extended periods!

Well as I say Bryan

Not used to Revving an Engine that hard....yes as you say No where near the red line.... but i don`t thrash the Sh*T out of an engine I just want it to last. i did go to 80 ish at one point and the speedo needle when it hit that speed went right up and off the clock....... don't Know why but as soon as it came down it was fine again..dam gremlins.

but i am glad that it runs well Now and Not got the Rev flat spot No more...... as they say keep at it till you get it right and i do that to all my bikes....... some people say I over polish them too and they don`t look right...but as I say each to their own. I just like to look at a bike see if it`s looked after or Not if you know what I mean.
