They normally come with the head gasket set, never looked for them individually for that reason.

CB750 / Re: CB750 K0 Piston to Bore Clearance
« on: April 26, 2021, 05:30:53 PM »
Depends what make pistons you are using, genuine Honda ones are incredibly well made with a tiny clearance, other makes vary. Make sure whoever does the boring is familiar with Honda's otherwise they will give too much clearance, you'll burn oil and need another rebore and more pistons! Trigger will be along soon, so have your piston make ready to tell him!

CB500/550 / Re: Brake Fluid
« on: April 23, 2021, 02:28:14 PM »
Dot 5 silicone fluid works fine, I can't see any reason Dot 4 won't be okay. Dot 5 is great as it doesn't absorb water like Dot 3, and it doesn't harm paint if you splash the tank or frame.

Been getting them for about 18 months, you just start reading something and they pop up irritatingly. I refuse to pay for ad free V.I.P. status though!

We will let you off with the two missing cylinders. Welcome
Bryan, as far as I'm aware this is the SOHC Honda group, any single cam Honda is welcome, it's the yank forum that only allow fours in!
Anyhow, welcome to the madhouse, those 350 twins are nice little bikes, and dare I say quicker to 60 than the four cylinder ones!

CB750 / Re: long bolts in crankcase

No! Get it helicoiled or better still a Wurth insert fitted, that will sort it and keep all the volts standard size and thread.

Hi,
If the frame steering head is the same as the 400/4, the complete front end of a 400N will fit straight in complete with twin discs, but this gives a 19in front wheel, but there are 18in wheels that fit, bthe rear needs two made to measure distance pieces to fit the rear wheels.
The 500/550 have a 19 inch front wheel anyway, it's the 350/400 that needs 18 inch front.

CB750 / Re: Final drive shaft
« on: March 21, 2021, 09:43:43 PM »
The 750F0, F1, F2 and K 7 all use the same bearings on the final drive shaft, but the shafts are different part numbers for the F2 and K7.

CB350/400 / Re: New silencer to header box leak
« on: March 16, 2021, 11:58:05 AM »
That's a great starting point, the all important bits are there, the exhausts look really clean, mudguards look solid etc.

I'm lucky enough to still be running an OE system, and there is a small drain hole at the forward end of the silencer to get rid of the condensation.  If at all possible, don't start the engine just for the sake of it. Wherever possible, if my engine gets started then it's taken for a long enough run to get the whole lot nice and hot.  If the bike is laid up and you want to keep things lubricated, then give your right leg a work out on the kick starter, or spin it over on the starter button with the kill switch open. Batteries are cheaper and more available than exhaust systems.!!!
The 400 is road ready, so have defected to twin cylinders now with the purchase of a 1966 CL160.  Hopefully a fool and his money are not too easily parted!!!!!    Stay Safe everyone. Mike.
You've NOT defected at all, this is not the American group, if it's a single overhead cam it's welcome, or that's how I've always understood it. CL160, semi trials version of the CB160? Let's see some pics of it then, as I for one have never seen one.

Project Board / Re: 1967 CB450K0 Black Bomber Rebuild - By Royhall
« on: March 13, 2021, 10:09:39 AM »
That's looking very nice Roy, there is something very appealing about early Honda's with chrome panels on the tank. I bet the quality of finish was far better than any British bike of the time, and performance. The CB450 should have sounded alarm bells in the British bike industry, but they ignored it, and just a few years later CB750 arrived, and it was too late! Excellent work you've done there, probably the only twin cam bike I've ever wanted.
