Not always easy on some bikes, but removal of rocker arms, or at least slack tappets as much as possible, that way it avoids having a valve spring compressed for all that time. As regards tyres, plan for new before riding again if leaving 5 years, as current thinking is 7 years from manufacture regardless of tread depth, and let's face it, if one let's go at even 40:mph the results do not bear thinking about on a bike.

*THE ITALIAN WEDDING TEST*
I was a very happy man. My wonderful Italian girlfriend and I had been dating for over a year, and so we decided to get married. There was only one little thing bothering me....It was her beautiful younger sister.
My prospective sister-in-law was twenty-two, wore very tight mini skirts, and generally was bra-less. She would regularly bend down when she was near me, and I always got more than a nice view. It had to be deliberate. Because she never did it when she was near anyone else.
One day her 'little' sister called and asked me to come over to check the wedding invitations. She was alone when I arrived, and she whispered to me that she had feelings and desires for me that she couldn't overcome. She told me that she wanted me just once before I got married and committed my life to her sister. Well, I was in total shock, and couldn't say a word. She said, 'I'm going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want one last wild fling, just come up and get me.' I was stunned and frozen in shock as I watched her go up the stairs. I stood there for a moment, then turned and made a beeline straight to the front door. I opened the door, and headed straight towards my car.
Lo... And behold, my entire future family was standing outside, all clapping! With tears in his eyes, my father-in-law put down his shotgun and hugged me and said, 'We are very happy that you have passed our little test. We couldn't ask for a better man for our daughter. Welcome to the family.'
And the moral of this story is:
Always keep your condoms in your car!

I used to find mine gave me cramp in my thighs after about 20 minutes riding, and u was still a teenager then. I'm bang on 6 foot. It was so bad I used to pinch a cushion off the sofa and out that on the seat to make it marginally better. Seeing a sign in my local Honda dealer referring to them as "Superbikes for women and wimps" settled it, a 750K2 was exchanged for it (F1's were still too new and expensive then!)

If you paid by PayPal or a credit card, you can involve them, as credit card companies and PayPal will pursue errant traders for you, worth a try and will cost you nothing,

Call them and tell them what you found, and mention you're documenting the build on a bike forum. They seem to be pretty good at sorting problems, and may offer a partial refund or better.

It will almost certainly be an improved part to prevent similar failure in future.

Ouch! Did you call the police anyway, getting rear ended means she has commited driving without due care and attention or careless driving at the very least, and if she fails to pay up, you'll be in bother with your own insurers for not reporting it to them, as you have an obligation to report ANY loss or damage to your vehicle, however caused!

If you have shells for them, yes. Where did you get the crank and rods from?

Roy, once it has tax you can ride it to any inspection if one is needed, but as it's a UK bike not an import it shouldn't be an issue.

E bay are just sooooo greedy! I stopped selling on there a couple of years back when they started taking a slice of the postage charges. Okay PayPal take a slice too, but provided you have trackable postage, you get buyer protection if things get lost or damaged in the post, rather than chasing the postal service yourself.
