Title: aircleaner manifold

I there a trick or secret,to getting the manifold on to carb stubs,if so can someone share it with me,.yorky

Make sure the spots on the rubbers line up with the spots on the airbox. They are not straight and are much easier the fit on when aligned at the right angle. Fit airbox to carbs before connecting airbox to airfilter housing.

I'm with you on this Yorky, what a pain this can be!  It took me nearly a week to get mine back on as the rubber hardens & shrinks slightly with age, so here are my tips;
1. Obviously, it's a lot easier with two people ;D

2. If you've got a heat gun, warm the stubs slightly (& carefully) to get them more malleable.

3. Remove the air filter from the housing and use a large allen key or any other tool that can reach through the tunnel to apply pressure to the stubs from inside the manifold.

4. As stated by Lynx, get the stubs onto the carbs first, rotating each of them to get the best angle  :'(, then you can reach through the tunnel with your fingers to pull the rubber seal over the    tunnel mouth of the air filter housing.

My inlet rubbers were not so bad but after several goes  there was no more satisfaction from the job I found.......
so I bought a pattern set from David Silver Spares (not cheap but still)

Makes the removal and replacement a lot easier.
These are not matched to each carb position like the originals as the rubber is flexible enough for it not to matter. They just have a reference mark on top to line up with the manifold dots.
