Can anyone recommend the correct fork oil weight and air gap, when rebuilding the forks on my 1977 CB400F.  My Haynes manual is not very good!

Thanks.

CB350/400 / New Paint for my 400/4 Cafe Project
« on: December 23, 2012, 05:32:03 PM »
Inspiration taken from the 1960's Team Lotus F1 livery seen here with the late, great Jim Clark in action at Brands Hatch.

Paint used is correct for period - I unearthed the Lotus paint codes 8)

Tank badges are new OE Honda parts sourced from the US of A.

I am still waiting for the seat unit due to minor blemishes seen in the new paint.

CB350/400 / Paioli Rear Suspension On My New Bike
« on: November 04, 2012, 03:13:16 PM »
I picked up the bike this morning.  Not garaged and rained on overnight, it started first kick and quickly settled down to a nice even tickover.  With no nasty rattles, the motor sounds very sweet.

I'm not sure where these Paioli shocks originated, and know nothing about them.  Damping is currently fairly weak, but the piggy back reservoir can be recharged with an air gun.  Does anyone know anything about these units.

CB350/400 / Air Filters
« on: November 02, 2012, 07:48:27 PM »
Does the 1977 400/4 respond well to the removal of the airbox and fitment of K&N or Uni filters with appropriate jetting?  The bike is fitted with a Yoshi (?) exhaust.

Hello Chaps

All being well, I collect this 1977 CB400/4 on Sunday having seen it on Ebay for my latest project.  Advertised as having a Yosimura exhaust fitted in the 1970's, though I am sure someone here could verify if it is a Yoshi system.
