Has anyone any idea what this is? Someone in my village bought it at an autojumble but we don't know what it's off .

I know the ones. They have nuts in the inside. I used some stainless steel ones from Screwfix but make sure they are not too long or they will damage your crankcase.

I put the down pipes into the collector with copper grease, so I can get them out again.

Hi Paul. I did resolve the problem in the end by replacing the whole of the lifting mechanism with good secondhand stuff from Germany via eBay. Thanks.

If it's just rich at idle all you have to do is open the idle air screws 1/4 turn.

I had this problem with my 400 when first rebuilt. I had to replace the whole lifting mechanism to sort it.

Have you used compressed air on them? I managed to blow out a small brass blanking ball once without realising. I had the carbs off 3 times before I found the problem.

Hi Dave,

I think this is what you want

You can usually get them out with a pin. Maybe soak them in PlusGas first.

Aaron,
Have you tried sucking the fluid through from the bleed nipple with a vacuum?

15wt Fork oil worked well in mine.
