I'd imagine, or hope, the chain guard is off a cb400 because its been removed and replaced at a later date with one off a 400?!
I'm sure I'll be asking on here for advice when I get it home.

Thanks all, I'm trying to decide whether a near 10hr round trip and fuel or just a good courier is best. The things I could get done in 10hrs...go to work to pay for the courier for example

It was ridden in 2017 then stored in his garage so will need some gentle persuasion I'd imagine. Full going over and soak the piston rings in a little oil first before easing it over by hand?

Thanks Dave, I've looked at your bike but you've done a lot the bits I wanted to do so it wouldn't be much of a project for me except stripping the engine paint back. Who knows I may change my mind

Yes that's a good point Trigger, any 550 will do in that case although finding one complete with the right carbs and tank might be the most straightforward option
