Old style Kei-hins like the 069A are easier to work on. If your K3 is already modified (airfilter, exhaust) I see no objection.

I wouldn't open anything yet. Is #4 still peeing, then tap the float bowl with the stub end of a screwdriver. Maybe the needle frees. How old is the gas? After sitting for such a long time an additive like Seafoam, Forté, Tunap or other wouldn't hurt. Great stuf to 'lube' floatneedles and the like. I'd say almost mandatory.

CB500/550 / Re: Fouling plug« on: May 08, 2013, 03:54:11 PM »Quote Reg can brake down and over power the plugs burning the diode out.? BTW, my 500 starts within a blink next day after being used, two days later still perfect, three days later still OK, but... when bike has stood for 5 days or more it is hard to start. Nothing to do with battery charge (checked this), nothing to do with gas or carbs (checked this too). Suggestions anyone? 1370

Interesting. The US 500K2's were 1973 and didn't have the colors and striping of the later 500K2 [ED, F, G] for Europe in 1976.

Honda had various cables as the models had various handlebars. US had highrise handlebars, Europe not.

That makes me curious. What does that exhaust modification sticker say? Can't remember having seen one.

Thickness plates (new) per Honda Shop Manual is 2,6 mm. What makes you think you have to renew them? 1379

The 500/550 will be in the historybooks... next to the pyramids.
Reminds me of that American. Hadn't he done 1.600.000 kms with his Honda Accord? O, here, it is: http://www.autojunk.nl/2011/10/joe-doet-1-000-000-mijl-in-een-honda-accord 1380

Actually 15W40 is the better oil, unless you live in the north of Canada and ride at temperatures below zero a lot. Mine shifts better with 15w40.
