CB750 / CB750 Foot Rest
« on: June 07, 2012, 12:36:29 PM »
Hi all, I'm doing some slight mods to my F2 as I restore it, one of them is using the slightly rear set footrest assemblies from the DOHC, I have everything except a right side foot rest, does anyone have one kicking around they would sell me?

The pic if it works is of the left side rest, it is its opposite I need.

Cheers.

Pete.

Could be, its a pre F model engine number, with a 410 head.

CB750 / Cam cover 'surprise'
« on: May 30, 2012, 11:30:30 AM »
Started work on my engine this week, and noticed there is no tachometer drive on the cam cover, the internal casings for the drive gear etc are there, but, the outside of the cover is not machined to take the cable, it is just a rounded off 'blob'.

Did Honda make a model of CB750 with an electronic tacho, or have I got something odd?

Cheers.

Thanks All, does anyone know what the thread is, it looks like M20 x 1.5, but as usual I lent a mate my thread gauge, so can't be sure of the pitch.
Cheers.

CB750 / CB750 F1 Fuel Tap
« on: May 28, 2012, 11:36:47 AM »
Hi All, does anyone know if there fuel taps from other Honda models which will fit the F1 tank with the 20mm threaded fitting? F1 taps seem few and far between and mine is broken off at the gland nut flange, and the nut is missing.
Cheers.

CB750 / Re: More on Locks - Tank Flap
« on: April 05, 2012, 10:04:08 PM »
Thanks, I'm not worried about lockability (is that a word?) I don't have one at all and need something to hold the flap down, I would probably get the tumblers removed anyway so as to be sure the key for the aftermarket igniton lock will open it.
Cheers.

Does anyone know of a supplier for F2 tank flap locks? I suspect all the flaps have the same locks.

Or does anyone have one spare & for sale, key not vital, I have a tame locksmith..

Cheers.

That does look very nice, I think the Sulphur Yellow scheme is the best looking, and am going to finish my F2 in yellow, originality is secondary to how I want it to look.

If you have access to a MIG or Arc welder, it is possible to build up a blob of weld on the broken nipple, then weld on a nut, the heat helps free things and 9 times out of 10 it will come out leaving the threads un damaged.

CB750 / Re: Carb to head rubbers
« on: March 21, 2012, 08:24:54 PM »
Thanks chaps, I've had a closer look at what I've got, its a 410 head, which would indicate F2, but, the inlet stubs are 36mm diameter with a 38mm lip, I would have expected 38mm stubs, can anyone confirm the diameter of either K0-5 or F2 stubs??

I'm tempted to turn the carbs down to 36mm and use fluoro lined silicone hose, I recon witha couple of 135 degree bends I can make the 4 connectors.

I have a mis match carbs and engine, I have a 74 engine, and 2 sets of F2 Carbs, but no carb to head rubbers at all.

Can anyone tell me if I can use the later carbs with early rubbers? F2 rubbers seem non existent....

Cheers.

Does anyone know of a supplier of the H shaped spring clips which retain the pads in the F2 calipers?

They don't seem to be included in pad sets, and I can't find any listed by DSS and the likes.

Cheers.

Hi Bibs, where abouts in Sheffield are you? I'm in S26 - Aston, and just starting a 750F2 project.
