Hello everyone hope you are all well and thank you for accepting me into the forum. I have the chance of a ‘77 750 f1 it is rough in general but all there and has been kept on the road. It rides pretty well is a good starter and although has done 78000 miles doesn’t show any smoke (may have had engine work in the past?) I do like the spoke wheels. Is the high miles something I should worry about? Cheers everyone

Welcome to the mad world of the SOHC ;)
If it has been well maintained it should be fine. I would remove the sump pan to see what the is in it and clean out the oil tank

Welcome to the forum and have fun. Pics please if and when. ;)

Welcome, can't comment on high mileage as my 76 F1 is only in the 20's, but I've had it since new and it's never let me down, regular oil and filter changes are a must on these bikes so if yours has been looked after it should be OK.
Cheers

If serviced correctly these will do well over 100000 before even a minor rebuild

Welcome from me too, you'll enjoy it here. Lots of friendly folk only too willing to pass on their experience and knowledge. Like it has been said, high mileage isn't a problem providing it's been well looked after, that said these engine can take a certain amount abuse (not recommended though). However, in the future regular oil and filter changes are a must as I learned the hard way in 1977 when my 750 K1's cam let go.
Enjoy your F1, some photos would be good.
Cheers,
Andrew
