Hi All
Can anyone date 2 750 engines from the following numbers please.?
2551936 on one and
b7500e1002850 on the other
Thanks
-
255 is a k6 1974 to 1976
100 would be a K0 1969 to 1970 and an early one at that.

Thanks Mick
I just wanted confirmation.
These are the 2 engines i pick up tomorrow.
one has apparently run the cam ,don't know which yet.
Do you know if the heads are interchangeable?
cheers Rich
-
I think the heads changed slightly in about 73 different valve guides I think.
Pete or Ash will put me right if I'm wrong.

Didnt the k0 only have one bolt near the chain tunnel where as the others have front and back?

Hello mate if one of those really is engine 2850 it could be a sandcast. If it is, you may have struck gold. Get some pics up. That engine alone could be worth £2k depending on condition...
-
Well roll on tomorrow night, the fairly poor photos it could be a sand cast.
I'll let you know tomorrow. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D+6
-
If it is lucky git Rich and well done mate

kacking myself now, hope he dosen't change his mind.
Google seems to think sandcast went up to just over 7000.
gonna be a long day at work tomorrow.
I'll let you know as soon as i know :)

Just keep him away from this forum and play it cool ha ha...

;) check that number again b7500e don't look right too me check that the last digit is not a G instead of a 0 ,it may be a early f engine
it should start CB750E -100~ then you are ok
-
I won't know until i see them tomorrow, that's the numbers he has given me. :-[
-
F series seem to have an "f" according to the net.
He text me the number and may have hit the 0 tw :-\ice (i Hope)
-
Think I have seen a 'B' like that before in a CB750 engine number but can't remember what it signifies. Sorry but doubt it's a sandcast. It would be obvious anyway because of the surface finish plus a sandcast only has nine holes on the clutch cover as opposed to 10 on the diecast. Hope I am wrong!

Thats my typo error it is cb750, haven't seen them in the flesh yet, 5 o'clock tonight will tell. :-\

Ok excitement over not a sand cast Steff750 is right early F1.
I got them both and a set of carbs and full unopened gasket set
for £230 so ok.
I'll have a strip down at some time and decide which way to go.
Cheers Rich
