Title: CB750K2
Post by: Nelly on October 09, 2006, 12:54:31 PM
Hi,
Just bought CB750K2, always wanted one but know nowt about um. Seems pretty good UK bike circa 1972, Clutch is dragging a little, is replacement difficult/expensive? neutral light seems a bit iffy, staying on constantly but getting brighter when true neutral is found  and is there anyway of stopping the front disc from bloody squeaking all the time.
Cheers
Neil

First of all - welcome to the forum!

In order:

1. Clutch drag is just adjustment. Get a manual and have a go. You may have to replace the clutch cable if you are unlucky.

2. Neutral light is driven by an eccentric drum switch under the clutch cover. Clean it.

3. Disk squeak. They all do that sir. Actually this is down to cleaning and adjustment too. You won't be able to adjust it properly without cleaning it all up first. Especially the groove inside the brake cylinder (the one that the square-section seal sits in).  Once cleaned up, follow the manual instructions as to how to adjust it.

Post back.

PS.

Where are you?

There's nothing like a bit of help with your first bike.

I had to do some repairs to my wiring loom.

If you need to replace any connectors, I've used these bullets connectors they are a good match.
