I think your experience and knowledge of the K0 has warned people Ash. Well done, nobody should get ripped off if they read your comment.
I have a K6 (or I think it is, I'll have to check the engine numbers as it's up in Glasgow at the moment in bits!),  At least it won't need a seat when I get round to restoring it as it's a Rickman CR750 with a bit of history behind it.

Get well soon. At least the driver admitted responsibility and wasn't one of the great uninsured that plague our roads these days. Have a good recovery and hope it goes well.

All very interesting info and unavailable in the Haynes manual.  I found the piece of card I used, it's 22mm, not 26mm as I stated in my earlier reply, two of the four carbs still leak though so I'm going with your idea Chris to make a proper 21mm gauge followed by the bench sync as recommended by Bryan.

Thanks Chris.
I've given up for the day now, lesson learnt, try the carbs off the bike in future!
I'll try again on Saturday, work gets in the way for the rest of the week  :(.

I've got exactly the same problem!  I started mine today after the rebuild.  I had the carbs ultrasonically cleaned, new jets, needles and float valves.  I set the carb floats using a 26mm gauge as recommended by Mr Haynes in his book and used a 3mm drill to set the slides.
When I turned the fuel on everything was fine for 5 minutes and carb no.4 flooded closely followed a couple of minutes later by no.1! When I connected the Morgan gauges only carb no.3 registered any reading, no matter how much I tried to adjust the settings on the screws and lockouts using a Honda tool nothing happened! The carbs are back on the bench and I'm scratching my head, I followed the carb rebuild instructions to the letter!

Welcome Pat.
You have a lot of work to do over the winter! Good luck with the project, enjoy the adventure!
My own 400/4 is nearly finished and like yours, mine was an eBay purchase but in boxes, a wheelbarrow would have been handy!

How did DS let that lot slip through his fingers! Actually,  £1500 isn't too bad for a complete new engine considering how expensive genuine Honda parts are, £80 for genuine head gaskets is one example.
Shame I don't have a blown up SP1 sitting in the garage and I've only just serviced the lawn mower engine!

Well said Roy. Too many shows (cars and bikes) are being hijacked by the mobile phone covers, sweets, boot Polish and the tool that does it all for £30 type traders. I couldn't get near to anything last year within an hour of arriving.
I can recommend the Kempton Park shows, worth £6 entry fee and always a great show outside in the car park with so many riders bikes to look at. Not much Japanese stuff but there are normally a few traders selling gaskets and a few nos parts so some bargains to be had.

Does Walkinshaws have a tank big enough for a Rickman frame Ash? £100 to chrome a wheel rim sounds reassuringly  expensive though!

A 5 mile queue to get in, gez glad I didn't bother! I was going to stay overnight at the test track where I work on Thursday and Friday as I did last year but thought maybe not a good idea after last year, you have just confirmed I made the right decision!
Was the guy outside selling the new OS and pattern Honda bits, he had a lot of 400 and 750 bits last year but he's not on the Internet  :(.

I was lucky Ash, whilst DS was serving me I was telling him how I used to buy from him when he had his lock up on the Chalk Hill estate in Wembley. As he was reminiscing I asked for a discount for old times sake! He looked at me, smiled and gave me £50 off. I had just ordered £1400 worth of parts though  :o!

If you are going by car leave home early. I drove last year and it took 90 minutes to drive the last mile and park up and that was at 8am!
I managed to get a further discount from DS after placing a large order with him at the show. He was also offering free P&P as a show special. If you intend to go to his stall make it the first place on your list as it gets crowded by mid morning.
There's a guy outside the main hall who deals with new 400/4 bits.
Have a great time and grab some semi-bargains.

Maybe a forum meet and greet idea for next spring?
