Yep re Virgin media and not accepting their price. Just recontracted at £43/month. Not whistles and bells TV but have TNT Sport (as was BT), Eurosport, so sorted on the bikes, plus wifi and telephone (i don't want or use)

Almost true Nige, when I get to 1000 I start again at 1, around 4000 of 9020 are now gone, everything from 2014 to May 2021 is now gone for good. Moorey stated my posts were causing members to leave the site so I'm remedying that.

Whether it has impact, I for one value your contribution Ken along with opinion and the presentation of work personally completed.

Between us we can have opposing views but still discuss and offer why those may be desirable or give clarification to the topic in question, essentially a part of having interesting conversations on a forum like this.

I'm OK with holding a different view of something, with sometimes the debate offering important insight to another forum member in possible explanation of why something has happened on their bike. You'll never know what these conversations will turn up.

Whatever you decide in personal position, I wish you well with your riding and projects.

Nigel.

Plus one on this and Teds post.

Done it the other way with a 400 Superdream on 250 gearing on rear wheel. Wheelies yes but also hole in crankcase due to lack of mechanical sympathy..

With what you are thinking as the others say. no. Not a rocketship of an engine to start with and no excess of power / torque to deal with greater load.

I began the overhaul of the 400/4 front brake caliper yesterday. Once I finally got it apart and after having to reconnect the overhauled master cylinder to pump brake fluid as the grease gun/air combo method refused to even budge the pad/piston from the caliper the piston finally popped out and it was immaculate, not a mark on it! The cause of the huffing and puffing was the brake pad seizing in the caliper bore. I bought a new piston and seal kit for it months ago having experienced badly corroded pistons in the past so I'll fit these and keep the old one as a spare as you do!

A mystery needs solving though, can anyone advise why Honda put a red spot on the outside of the caliper, was it used in the production line to indicate the piston and seal had been fitted? I know Honda marked important parts with a blob of yellow paint to indicate they had been torque set but why the red spot?
The paint of the caliper body was almost unmarked under the 20+ years of storage dirt and rats droppings and I intend to keep the original paint complete with the red spot; I just wish I knew what the spot was for?

The red dot denotes upgraded part fitted to a red bike because as we know, they are so much  faster!😜

My shaving brush is made with badger hair, maybe I should try using a CB550 liner for a closer shave :-)

They use a badger's pubes for shaving brushes! 🤣

Probably...

Don't you lads be catching TB then ...

And of course historical links to our own UK Honda bikes.
(Attachment Link)

Come on Ash - fill me in on the detail? The letter you posted makes sense but what do I read into this? Was it delivered to Maico? Sorry if I'm being dim!

Just looked at the Facebook page out of interest. Not a scooter man personally but like the chunkiness "butch"  look of that.
