CB750 / Re: The Brighton 750 Prototype - Coming up for auction...
« on: March 05, 2018, 03:35:21 PM »
Interesting to see bidding stalled a bit at £65k, someone probably thought they had a bargain for a while!
The auction didn't have the intensity of a Fast & Loud Gas Monkey auction either  8)
BOOM! ;D

That looks great and always preferred the Dream to the Superdream (although I had one). Well done - a credit to you.

Probably if a good one can be found it would be great as a little used classic for us old codgers. Not the spotty yoofs they were originally aimed at!

Still like the CBX550. Nice lines and proportions but complications with inboard brakes etc.

CB350/400 / Re: Powder coat Engine parts
« on: February 26, 2018, 03:42:19 PM »
I have My engine stripped down and I am wondering what to do with the crank cases, I am going to polish the outer casings, I know that's not the way they were done originally they were painted, but I like shiny things. My question is has anyone ever powder coated their crank cases, I have a guy who has done all of my powder coating for years and he is very good. I am wary about getting the crankcases done and also I would need to match the colour when I was painting the top end of the engine, I would be grateful for some input.
Powder coated crankcases and whole top end on a race engine years back. No issues.
