The Carb air scew, top plastic tab & spring are shown as one part number in the manual 16016-377-004.
Are the springs only available anywhere by any chance?

Only from used carbs mate

John Oldfield Motorcycles of Southampton have that part no. showing as available. All the regular suppliers are showing as unavailable. If it's just the spring you need, bear in mind that it's not a precision piece of kit, just the right size needed with enough strength to stop the screw from vibrating undone.. Tool suppliers, model shops etc?. Don't just look for Honda parts ted, I spent ages sourcing some 3 x 8mm screws with the JSI 0.6 pitch thread for the tank badges on a 1966 CL160. I finally found some at a very good price from a Kawasaki dealer! Y'know, other manufacturers probably use/used those self same springs. Don't you just love our hobby? Keeps the old grey matter working.

They have sold out but the bloke there asked me to ring back on Tuesday as he might be able to order just the springs!
Thanks Micky

Have you thought about maybe using something like a biro spring? We used to cannibalise all sorts of stuff back in the day.

Good shout Ken if I get no joy on Tuesday that's a great bit of lateral thinking. Cheers Ted

Ted, try eBay, simply type “small springs” and you’ll get many options.

exactly what I used on the return spring on my petrol tank flap on Mejima. Cant beat a biro spring theyre ace.

Yesterday whilst looking for something else I found a couple of spare springs from my original carb rebuild box of bits - completely forgotten that I had the box of bits.

Ive found a couple as well whilst hunting last night Ted , if you're desperate mate......

Sorted thanks as only one was missing & I found three springs - next I need to track down a pair of the black restrictor caps if I can.
-
I have a pair of those caps you can have, just let me know.
