Title: Starter clutch
Post by: Johnwebley on December 03, 2019, 04:45:22 PM
Just replaced my starter clutch mech.

As you can see.the springs were knackered. And so the plunges.

Parts obtained from the US.

Price almost doubled by Parcel Force surcharges.
It can be replaced engine in frame. With careful work.
BTW. The rubbers in the drive damper were also shot (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191203/b3164bd7e4a03fec6c6c2c5e2f9bd35d.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191203/7a04d657c19ef904d3cce8ea1cda9e07.jpg)

Well done. It's a tricky operation removing and re-installing the primary chain round the mechanism when working under the engine.

I cannot take credit. A mate used to work for a local Honda dealer. And he did it.

I know my limitations.
And pulling a 4 hundred weight bike apart is one of them.
