Can anyone tell me what tools are required to adjust the chain on a VFR800 please? I've just been stopped by a guy who knows I have bikes asking if I could adjust his chain as he's been quoted 1 hours labour to have it adjusted! He said he'd pop round but just trying to prepare (as never been near a single sided set up)
Thanks

Thanks Ken, he says he hasn't got any tools so hopefully a C spanner from a shock/steering head will fit

A shock c spanner won't fit. If the bike has the Honda tools under the seat it should be there. Two parts, the C and a handle.

Yes a 17mm pinch bolt holds the hub in place. You will need a large C spanner, this is the one in the tool kit.[attachimg=1][attachimg=2]

The VFR C-spanner has two nibs on it to engage with the eccentric nut.

Thanks guys - not sure when he will arrive - he probably has the C spanner - I know him from my local, he's the sort that 'latches' on to people in the pub! Not the brightest button and he may not know its under the seat. Have to help a fellow biker out but hope he doesn't 'latch' onto me!

Change your pub you know it will end in tears.

Is he like the Inbetweeners a "Friend"

Good point but my wife doesn't suffer fools so she will fire him off when we are in the pub! Just need to make sure he doesn't spoil my private 'garage time' by turning up to sort all his service issues!

He can't be all bad if he's got a VFR! ;)

Obviously a person of exceptional taste to own one of Mr Honda's best creations. I bet he's the first person to get a round of drinks in at the pub🍺🍺
