Title: Honda CB500 Four XWK816M still around?
Post by: petersy on April 03, 2015, 01:33:25 PM
I bought this bike new in 1974.
I did many mods on it but had to sell it to fund a house purchase at the time.
It would be nice to find out if is still around and what condition it is in.

Could be still about as the tax and MOT run out in November 2011. Is listed as Red with the DVLA.

Yes it was metalflake red when I bought it - a special paint job by Albany Motorcycles in Coventry.

I eventually bought a big tank for it and spare side panels and painted them Honda red with yellow Honda logos on the side of the tank.

With mag alloy wheels (first of the few in the day), quarter fairing (red) Girling shocks, TT100 tyres, finned engine casings and four into two matt black exhaust system with Dunstall Decibel megaphone silencers, it looked and sounded awesome - a bit like an MV firing up in the midst of the 70s sea of two strokes in the car park on race days.

I still wish I had never sold it.
