Post by: vonmax on January 09, 2022, 01:47:41 PM
Hi i'm from yorkshire but moved to belgium 22 years ago as a missionary to teach them about God's own Country thought it was difficult for me but we sent my brother to Lancashire but he lives near the moors so can escape easy when them buggers start again.I have bought a 1978 750F2 to rebuild into a rideable classic as it was the 1st bike i had when a young soldier will be fun also have a HD Roadking from 1998 with only 22000km that is like new also.

Welcome I love the look of the 750's albeit too heavy & pricey for me.

Welcome from a fellow 'North Riding escapee', now in Bristol. Well done for taking the word to the heathens abroad, your'e a good man. Bad luck for yer Brother mind, at least he can set fire to everything on his exit to stall them a bit!

I'd love a 750 but playing with it's smaller siblings will do for now. :)

Welcome to the forum, there's so much knowledge on here it's incredible, don't be afraid to ask questions, even the daftest ones, they're all relevant and  it appears the more the merrier.
This site has been a god send for me whilst stumbling about restoring  our 400, which is nearly done now. So much so I've bought a sh*tter 550 to have another go, it's that good, either that or I'm just a bit soft?;D.

Enjoy and after 5 posts, bob up a piccie of your ride, we love to see em up on here.

Enjoy

Roo

Thanks for the welcome, very loathe to pull engine down ass running perfect it's really a cosmetic rebuild ie paint and frame needs redoing aso exhaust fancy putting a kerker or similar exhaust as they were the rage back in 78,last owner repainted battleship grey think he must have been on drugs, will nead tank decals and tank badges as no tank badges with it well 2 from a 500 4,got new breakpads and done brake cylinders already but no rush to do anything at the end of the day it's a toy

Hello and a very warm welcome from another exiled Yorkie,
Now enjoying life in Orkney (perhaps that should be Yorkney as there's bloody loads of us!) Not old enough for a 750 (only 72) so have to manage with 400's and 350's till I grow up.
Lots of great info for you to tap into on this site - a very friendly bunch all round.

Ian
