I saw it too. Seems cheap. Thought it was the one that got pulled apart the other week?!?!

It's cheap because it's got a problem. Says it's probably just stuck rings but unless he's got that Honda Crystal Ball that came in the dealer service kits, how does he know? . It could end up a nice bike but it needs an awful lot of money spending on it to get it correct.

I like that, it would be a nice project for next winter to keep me out of trouble but likely to cost some serious money for an engine rebuild given those compression readings. I don't know enough about them though to say if what is there is original or not although he mentions it's a genuine UK bike but.....did UK bikes have high handlebars?

The K0's came into the UK with high bars as standard.

Maybe just a bike with a few problems at a realistic  price ... still would take a lot to bring up to a good standard. ... pipes, paint and pitted parts for example

This is one of my old bikes - and it’s an absolute peach of a bike. It’s not the same bike that was posted in the original listing (that was a bit of a shed). I sold this one last year to fund one of the restorations and honestly still regret it. It’s a superb bike - and a superb survivor.

Nice unmolested bike at a reasonable price.

There seems to be absolute glut of CB750's on the market these days though.... When I got my UK bike project they were quite  rare over here  and a bit special and I suppose early UK bikes are still relatively rare but I feel the magic is fading now. Plus everyone is a so called bl**dy expert  >:(   Therefore, I am tending toward my '61 CB92 Benly being the real head turner now ... the Americans got very few of them, the Japanese are crying out for them and there is just not the absolute volume of them around like other models. Much loved and I feel the CD175A sloper is much loved in the UK too. I also think people 'of a certain age' want something a bit smaller to tinker with due to the sheer bulk of the 750. I also agree with Oddjob that the 500/4 is much more practical bike.

It’s got to be horses for courses Ash, I get where you’re coming from, in fact my restorer contact here in Bris sold 2 mint CB750s just this week to one person. And the same bloke might be coming back for a 3rd. I agree there’s a glut of these machines …

BUT. Owning them is one thing, and riding them another. I’ve quickly got bored of my two classic mopeds, and even the 400F (now sold) despite it being a little thing of beauty. The trouble is, there’s also a 1200cc Moto Guzzi and the CB750 in the garage…. and somehow one of those always wins as the 400F was relatively too tame.

A typical ride for me is 3 hrs / 100 miles (inc bacon butty) and will involve the local mountain - so a 175 isn’t going to cut it.

Not saying you’re wrong, but the CB750 will always be iconic with a well deserved place in motorcycling history, and due its power, an easier machine to live with on modern roads. I guess, this is why it’s so popular….?
