Title: Silverstone auction
Post by: smoothoperator on May 14, 2022, 05:04:20 PM
Just come back from the MCN show where I spent some time at the auction. Notable highlights for me were a Z900 in very good nick guided at 15 to 18K that went for 8.5K. A couple of others went nearer to 13K which were also guided at around 14 to 18K. Most bikes were going for around 10 to 20% below the minimum estimate.
A 400 four rust bucket went for £5,500. Someone must have swallowed the blurb about its 900 miles, believed to be correct, and some spiel about its first owner being a James Bond Art director!
There was a stunning 550 four, pictured, but I missed the sale, i'll look it up later.

500 is really nice, shame the aftermarket seat doesn't line up with the tank though, it's so good it lets it down.
