Hi,
I think the ring with the chamfer is the top ring, the chamfer is intended to help after a re-ring on a used bore, it minimises the effect of any wear ridge around the top of the cylinder wall from the old piston

Champher hasno bearing on it,
chrome ring top groove black ring secong groove
numbers facing upwards
-
They are both black?

Hi,
Apologies to billy192 and bryanj, I can only go with my remembered instructions for my yoshimura rings, which were all black finihed, and were fitted as stated, there was a dot to mark comp. ring upper side
-
Billy,
Hoped you remembered to check the ring gaps don't assume cos its new its all OK.
Cheers
