Typical damage from not heeding the warning when fitting the cam cover and bending valves, probably got sprocket but dont know if i have a spare head.
All 500/550 are identical by the way

I have done a velo and it should be easy to feel clutch slip as its a big single and on compression you feel the kickstart move with no effect

If its just the flexible wires out you really can do it yourself, if its the windings themselves, which i have yet to see, you would be better off getting a used one

There are always vents or the carbs cant work, it has to be fuel bypassing the needle seat somehow.
Another reason to hate PD carbs

The one you listed should be ok and Sealey is a reasonable mid range supplier

There are definately 3 itterations
1 8 short shafts
2 4 long shafts
3 4 long shafts with cotters

I know this as i have SEEN them all, you cant trust engine numbers and Honda parts books have mistakes plus the interchange of parts over the yeard

If you want to torque every thing 8 ftlbs to 50 ftlbs, leave out the alternator, primary gear and clutch nut and 8 ftlbs to 20 ftlbs will do.
Those 3 are normaly done to BT.

Gauges are Sealey VS209 gone up to £150 cheapest on ebay, nearest thing to genuine Honda ive seen anywhere

3.2 is a bit big, better using a 1/16 drill bit shank preferably new so no damage

Maybe, but K2 was never imported to UK Ken, or at least not by Honda UK
