Hi all

Thinking of moving on my modified and very pretty CB400F as in the near future will be inheriting my dad’s Mike Hailwood CB400F and some other bikes so need to sort out some space.

She is a lovely looking bike with some nice upgrades including twin disc front end, rear disc upgrade and suspension upgrades including RaceTec springs and gold emulators in the front end and YSS piggyback rear and an original Dresda swing arm, plus lots of other very nice changes

 




Looking for around £4k but will consider sensible offers.

If anyone is interested in something slightly different this is it. so just pm me.

Due to me cracking the original tail light lens and having to buy a complete unit to source a genuine Stanley lens got a brand new tail light unit minus the lens

They retail at £32 plus post on DS site so looking for £25plus £3 post

Hi all

At last finished my front fork upgrade

Fitted some linear Race Tec spring with modified damper rods (lower holes opened up to 6mm and extra holes added) that now are fitted with Race Tec gold valve emulators



Lastly replaced the fork top caps with some adjustable preload units







Well please with the result and looking forward to doing some final fine tuning of both the suspension set up front and back once spring is here

Lastly due to the above changes I am left over with two almost brand new fork caps



As these are now surplus to requirements and will just collect dust. If anybody is looking for a pair to replace the original ones looking to move on for £18 posted

Hi all

Just for info had a couple of requests on FB about my Dresda arm and could I provide a 2d drawing to allow then to make a replica for the CB400F as they are now almost unobtainable

I now have a dimensioned 2d drawing as a PDF and 3d model of the arm in both a STEP file and eDrawing that I am happy to share should anybody want to get a replica made for themselves

Thread size is 37mm * 1mm pitch so may fit other forks

Just need to cover post at £4

Hi all

Just like to say thanks to all that wished me luck with the back operation

Had it today and it was going to be just a removal of some small amount of vertebrae bone to ease the pressure on a bunch of nerves

Not so simple yes shave off a bit of bone but had to remove some of the disc too as it was rather knackered

I was told they may change tact once I was on the table, and one thing I always say is there is always someone worse off than you so be positive and be thankful for what you do have

Think I need to change my name to “Old bike engine” as it seems until you take it apart you don’t know what’s else  fooked

Oh well at least the op is over so I should now be on the way back up just may take a little longer

Take it easy everybody and have good Xmas and new year

Hi guys

Got a complete original kick starter for sale as the guy in the Netherlands did not pick it up and it got returned to me

It’s in  perfect condition no rust  complete with original rubber and black plug and was removed four to rear sets fitted see pics

I know these in this condition are more rare than a lottery win so if interested looking for around 130 plus post or pm me to discuss

Just wondered please if anybody has a old CB400F fork top bolt

Condition is unimportant as want to see if I can make up a pair of adjustable preload units for the old girl using this example for my base design
