I have been trying to sell an old British bike for a while now with limited success in the current economic climate. However, in response I have received an enquiry asking if I would be happy to ship it to USA. Immediate response is that it is a scam, but equally I have never sold aboard and would not really want the hassle.
In any event I just replied that it was for UK sale only. The guy has responded stating that he would be happy to arrange all the shipping? It could still be a scam, but equally it could be a genuine sale enquiry and once the money is cleared and in the bank where it goes I am not too bothered about particularly if as he has indicated he is happy to sort out all the shipping?
Has anybody here actually shipped a vehicle to the States and can advise what is involved so that I can better understand of the process and equally see it the guy is just leading me on and it is nothing more than a scam?

I think you will find that its function was to provide a 'soft' pick up of the stand if you left it down when you hit the first left hander? The aim, I believe, was that the soft rubber section would hit the ground first and flip the stand up rather than the hard metal part of the stand which could dig in and cause you to fall off?
I assume that the bike is not fitted with a side stand cut out switch, which I believe would have replace such devices on future bikes, so that you physically could not move off with the stand down?

Hi All,
I bought 4 carb dust boots from DSS to replace my missing & split ones but I can't see how they go on.
Their made of really thin rubber that looks like it tears easily and the hole is way too small to fit over the carb end.
It looks like I have to dismantle the whole carb linkage and re-sync everything, correct?
Given how expensive they are I would rather not mess them up!
They do not go over the carb ends but should slip into the grove on the circular disc that is part of the throttle body lifting mechanism. You just have to remove each carb from the manifold to separate the forked end of the lifting arm slide the boot over the forked end and then reattached the carb to the manifold and you should not have disturbed any settings that require re-syncing. Getting the boot into the groove and keeping it there can be a bit of a pain though. See attached

You will find that the std master cylinder works perfectly OK on a twin disc set-up. That is what I have done when I did the twin disc set up for my CB750K2 and it works fine. So if you have a good std one it might be worth using that first before replacing it? I’m gonna bite… how is it different to the K2 label?
The earlier one was slightly larger and had the main text and background black on silver and the later, K2 on, had the main text and background reversed so silver on black, see attached photo.
