Sorry Rozabikes, I stayed up late to watch the news and ended up buying a horn!

Thanks for the heads-up Trigger. I have just bought it as my 400/4 has an aftermarket horn fitted. The price is cheap for a working horn, it's just the postage that's eye-watering!

He's just finished repainting the nose fairing for my CB250RSA (decals by Piki). Excellent work as always 👍.

Glad you got the Cams back at last Roy. They have done a nice job, shame about the 8 week wait though! It certainly depends who you get I think, when the cb250rs blew up I sent the damaged cam to Newmans on the Tuesday and it was back with me on the Thursday! Worth the wait though for what you got back and the price.
I went to visit the DS museum last Tuesday for the first time, I do like the rugged look of the black bombers, maybe I should sell the Jota and downsize to something a bit more manageable and cheaper to run.
Personally, I would send all the paint to Menno I don't think anyone can match his quality of work especially when combined with piki's decals.

Very nice job. You are back on the road to recovery. Keep the progress photos coming.
If the welder is willing to take on this type of work it might be a good idea to post his details on the parts and services section?

Good advice Oddjob. Am I correct to assume the same also applies to the big end shells?

I think Dick traded in his CB750 for a BMW 1000RS. Murray Walker also had one (in the gold colour). Both bikers 👍.

Great video, the swinging 60's.
I took my test on a similar bike, a 250CSR in 1979. The examiners first words when he saw it in the car park dripping oil was 'Is that thing legal'. The bad start got worse when he asked me to read a number plate and I got it wrong! He gave me a second chance and I got it wrong again! He gave me one last chance reading a different plate, when he told me I got that wrong as well I argued the 'W' was a 'V'. He said 'I should know what the number plate is, its my bloody car'.....opp's! I still passed despite him trying to confuse me by showing me a picture of countdown markers for an unmanned railway crossing in the highway code question section of the test. We have a lot of unmanned level crossings in London!
I wonder if Mr A J Seddon is still an examiner, a name I will never forget (and he probably still remembers my name!!!).

I bought a S/S item on ebay, reassuringly expensive but at least it hasn't gone rusty! Actually £19 isn't a bad price considering they are hand made from stock bar, that's only the price of four pints of beer (or three pints at central London prices!).

Misc / Open / Re: London's new ULEZ zone dodged!
« on: April 03, 2019, 04:45:44 PM »
Well done for avoiding the charge. I didn't know the historic status applied as a way of avoiding the charge.  the bad news is there are plans to extend the ULEZ charge in a couple of yearss to anything inside the north and south circular so in other words, everybody will pay!
In my opinion if they want to protect the future generations from pollution in London the first thing they should do is to ban the daily school runs made by parents who are too lazy to walk their kids to school and give them some much needed excercise! It's chronic around Ruislip where I live in the mornings and afternoons with SUV's carrying one child with the parent stopping on the yellow 'no parking' zigzag lines outside the school! It's strange how parents insist the goverment do something about greenhouse gases etc and yet they themselves pollute the air around the very schools where their kids are taught! There are three underground lines around here and about 10 bus routes (on which the kids get free travel) and still the parents insist on taking kids to school in cars in case of boogey men! I run in the mornings and you can taste the diesel fumes at road junctions (and it was the goverment who insisted we all buy diesels!).
When I was a kid in the 60's/70's I had to walk two miles to school and back, we couldn't afford a car, strange though that I'm fit and healthy, most likely due to daily excercise taken from an early age!
Dont forget the ULEZ charge will only apply to working class people with old cars and motorbikes, the rich in their new cars and company cars will still drive in for free just paying the congestion charge.
Rant over, shall we discuss #@%$ now to lighten the mood  ;)......

Great work by Menno as usual (and Piki).
I sent my CB250RSA fairing to Menno recently, I sent it via Royal Mail, more expensive but cheaper in the long run considering Parcel Monkey charged my debut card twice over last time!
