I have used https://pyramid-parts.com/

Good quality make bearings at a sensible price - I would measure the height of your old bottom bearing plus any shims then check against the bottom bearing in the kit use the bottom seal & any shims in the kit to ensure you get the bottom height correct.

My Yamaha  XJ 900 was only used in the summer - I never drained the carbs just used Wynn's Dry Fuel with a brimmed tank of SUL over winter. Over 10 winters no problem with blocked jets or flooding - might be the jets were too big to block up lol

Yes Maicoletta were made by Maico in Germany - foot operated gearshift pedals (Heel &Toe) & rear brake . Hand lever for clutch & front brakes. They were iirc a 4 speed gearbox there was a coloured gear indicator integrated with the clocks - matching  speedo & electric clock full screen etc. Most I have seen up for sale are missing the full upright windscreen.

Nice ride as it had large wheels - my mates Triumph Tigress was quicker to about 50 mph but then my Maico would keep going to an indicated 70 mph with superior ride as the  tiny wheels on the Tigress found every pot hole.

Mine was Black with Yellow side panels & front mudguard - sadly the only photo I had of her was lost in our house fire. It was iirc an early 'A' suffix vehicle supplied by a dealer in Manchester area - registered sometime in early 1963.

The bike shed at our local Technical College had a typical 1960's selection of bikes Gold Stars, Velocettes etc top of the aspirational tree was the Honda Benly 125 Sport but my dream was the last version of the Heinkel Tourist.

Ibuprofen like most medications can have side effects - it's hard on your liver & kidneys if taken regularly as well as it's well known possible effects on your stomach. I believe it is not recommended if you are on heart medication.

Greatest help to get me riding my bike is nice warm weather - the sunshine lifts my mood plus lubricates my joints somehow.

Neat looking Scooter I have to say.
I still have a trace of ancestral Scooter DNA in my body  having owned a lovely Maico Letta 250 2T single back in the 1960's.

Mine were NTN iirc I did post when I bought a kit for my 400. They also provide a better seal attached to a shim.

I shimmed mine to fit leaving sufficient top thread on my 500. The 400 has only half a kit from a different supplier I will remedy that in the future.

I want to keep the 400 as a runner until the 500 is completed - then I will return to tweaking a few bits on the 400 before I sell her or hit my expiry date - I was 75 at the weekend. lol

Seems weird that no one seems to be making a pattern copy part for the likes of DS.

Pyramid parts for some decent branded kits at a sensible price if you go for taper rollers I fitted them to my 500.

I know original fork ears look good but  imho unless you are going for all original looks they seem to be a water trap for rusting if my 500 was the norm.
I like the look of your headlamp brackets.

There not really Ted, it's just that they rust from the inside out and get very little attention except for the outside.

I'm basing my assumptions on a poll of two  - my 400 forks without gaitors and ears were free of rust.

I'm guessing the bike originally had plain bearings so they might be suffering from water ingress issues?
