Humour / Some really sad news..
« on: March 31, 2020, 06:36:18 PM »
Got some sad news today. After 7 years of medical training, my good friend has been struck off after 1 minor indiscretion.

He slept with 1 of his patients & now can no longer work in the job he loves.

What a waste of time, training & money.

A genuinely nice guy, and a brilliant vet.

CB750 / There is a CB750F god
« on: May 20, 2019, 04:22:46 PM »
Somehow managed to pick this up over the weekend - a NOS CB750F HM392 Silencer.

This was the final piece of the jigsaw for my unrestored CB750 F1 with 2k miles.

More to follow..

Project Board / Sandcast Seat Restoration
« on: March 27, 2019, 06:09:47 PM »
Just finished restoring a CB750 Sandcast Seat (using Yamiya red foam and seat cover) and thought I’d share a few pics.

Essentially at that remains of the original seat is the restored seat base and hinges / latch.

The Yamiya kit is superb - but bloody expensive.

But, like everything I guess you have to pay top whack for top quality.

The fitting took me 3-4 hours (test fitting, measure twice, cut once etc..) but I’m pretty chuffed with the finished results..

I would say this is well within the capabilities of pretty much anyone - just requires patience, thought and the right approach.

CB750 / 1970 (01/70) CB750 restoration
« on: June 09, 2018, 10:13:07 AM »
Thought I’d start this thread to document my latest K0 restoration...

The start...photo was taken back in 2016. Note the incorrect front end...correct K0 forks and single cut fender came with the bike and were temporarily re-fitted in late 2016.

Project Board / Sandcast Paint Correction
« on: April 12, 2018, 08:57:18 PM »
In the process of cleaning up the paintwork on my Sandcast thought I’d share a couple of pics. I’ll try and do a full write-up of the process when I get a chance.

This is an original candy ruby red bike with tired but original paint. The objective is to clean up the bike ready for sale - it’s an incredibly original bike and would be a shame to restore, so I’m just servicing / deep cleaning her prior to sale..

Started work this evening on the side covers - at some point in it’s life the side cover badges have been refitted the wrong way round (god knows why).

Starting condition (some differential fading):

Nice silver paint run from somewhere?:

Reasonably deep gouging in a few places:

CB750 / CB750 K0 - she may have to go
« on: January 27, 2018, 04:35:19 PM »
Decisions decisions...

Toying with the idea of letting my Candy Blue Green Diecast K0 go. With a few K0 and other restorations on the go I need the funds sadly.

This is a totally original one previous owner bike. I doubt I'll ever find another. Only non-original parts are the handlebar clamp bolts and tyres.

Last ran by me three years ago when I first imported her - then mothballed since.

Tell me am I mad?

James

Might as well start somewhere. Here's my '67 Bomber imported from the US with 1471 miles from new, completely unrestored and will stay this way in my ownership...
