Paul, in all the years i worked for Honda dealers the strobe was only used once, and that was a 400 dream that holed a piston!

Get the points gap spot on at 14 thou and set the timing to the "F" with a bulb or buzzer, check the gap again and keep adjusting both till both are spot on.

If you realy insist check that the advancer is working with the strobe then put the cover on and ride it

The only place you will get those is Honda if they are still available, and they won't be cheap

Part of the PDI on every Jap bike I ever did was to rip the steel shield(s) off and usually the caps lasted 2-3 years

Does this have the 4 into 1 throttle cable? If so they were always a pain to set up and the cables frequently bind up giving wierd balancing problems, i don't know if new cables have been fitted or are available but that is one, expensive, thing to try

If they have never been out before there will be some sealant in the threads which is where the air gun works or as somebody else said remove the top nut and spring then use a sharpened broom handle to stop the damper rod turning

You will find it cheaper to try and get used bits from a breaker as they were never popular

Misc / Open / Re: Frame with no VIN
« on: March 29, 2014, 12:30:07 AM »
If you replace a frame with a new one ypu are legaly entitled to stamp in the number from the old frame (except one make where EVERY frame has a different number), Therefore Ash, as i am certain you purchased this NOS frame quite a long time ago, you are OK to stamp in the Vin Number using whatever stamps are available as nobody has matching Honda ones!!

Get a cheap set of "rats tail" files as if there is any coil left outside after fitting to full depth you use the triangular file to put a notch in the coil wire at the edge of the hole and break off the excess---hope that makes sense asit's a damn site easier to do than explain

You may have to replace both parts of the connector though
