Title: Japanese Police 550
Post by: mike the bike on July 18, 2019, 10:12:52 AM
gomen'nasai.

It is a white bye of CB550FOUR. How about an object? Seven years ago, in this state, I thought to the decoration of the shop and purchased it, but after purchasing, nothing has been done, it has reached the present. The parts of the white bike are not readily available, and it is a fact that I gave up. There is around the front brake. The degree is the body disassembly, the frame is colored, and it is beautiful The spokes have been changed back and forth and are beautiful. The muffler is also beautiful. The engine is stuck and there is no kick. It is such a state, but if you can see who can continue, please. If possible, please check the current car once. I can not send it to anyone who can come to pick me up. Shipping is 225 yen, but I'm sorry I'm sorry.

Yea, right.

Steve - I’d love to see more pics of that 750P.

Looks like a K0 spec bike, but without the mechanical siren - and has a later K2 onwards front end...

I’m going to be restoring an ex-Saudi 750P2 over the winter.

Bit of a bitsa police bike and the front end is K3 and onwards in the USA but, started using that front end on the UK K2 in late 73 early 1974  ;)

I live just around the corner from HGB, I'll pop in during the next few days to see if Paul still has the bike. I know he has a few ex police bikes including a Morini, Guzzi, BMW's, Honda etc. I'll take some photos and post if it's still there.

The file has "Greg Holliday" on it. I've no idea who he is but must have had some reason for putting it there...

My Honda CD250u is ex police, Wiltshire Constabulary. It was never put on the road by them on active duty though, was sent to them by Honda to assess for suitability but never got used. I bought mine from the Finance Director of Honda UK Motorcycles.

I broke one of those many years ago and have just noticed that the tacho is plugged off. I have had one of those plugs kicking about for years and always wondered where it came from  :o

Greg Holiday is Kettle738 (Mick Taylors friend) James.

The DS Police 550 was Dave Ayesthorpes I believe (plus several other police bikes that DS now has)

That would make sense as HGB was Eamon's local shop.

It is a Swastika sign from India and has been used as a symbol of divinity and spirituality in Indian religions well, before the Nazi copied and used it  ;)

Missing the D washers in the top yoke.

Stunning restoration though, really looks well.
