Title: Left side case cover how much is missing ?

About to start cleaning some bits - got me thinking how big a bit is missing / worn away by chain?

I’m off to the shed in a bit and my case is on the bench Ted, I’ll bung you some comparison piccies over. Same part I think…..

Think they were the same on the 550, happy for info if wrong but I think they are.
Give us 40 mins and i’ll be on it

Thanks for those photos Roo it looks like just a small part at the bottom has been cut back.
I'll do some more checks just to be sure.

Thanks Roo the side view is okay it's just a bit underneath.
Out of interest what's the small hole on the inside vertical lug bit for - looks a bit like a spring hooks into it?

If it's a 500 cover Ted then it is indeed for a spring, it's part of the clutch lifter mechanism.

Elbow grease….😁. Seriously though, if autosol isn’t doing it for you it’s time to either paint of professionally polish. There a few ‘buffers’ on this site who will be along shortly…..
