The pilot bulbs for the high beam and indicators are not very bright like the neutral and oil lights are, is there a trick in removing them as they seem very stiff and I'm worried about breaking them?

Start 550 up from cold and it misfires badly for exactly 1 mile then it's perfect after that and doesn't do it again until next cold start, pulling out choke has no effect on misfire and all headers seem to be the same temperature. New plugs, points and timing set. Does occasionally have a hanging idle, but not all the time.

Went for a 70 mile run today and the bike was sweet as a nut apart from if I switched it off for 10 mins for a cuppa, then when it starts it misfires slightly in 1st gear at lowish throttle. Thought of pilot jets but then why doesn't it do it in other gears at same throttle opening? As it stands this is  something that I can put up with so I will unless someone has an idea...?

Ok CB550 and when I pull away seem to have a misfire, when I'm in 3rd and above there is no problem, sweet as a nut. Used to happen in all gears but have renewed points and timing spot on, filled tank and shot some Redex in so since this it seems to get better every run I have. Is it just the Redex cleaning out the carbs? Obviously trying everything before I have to remove the carbs (46A) cos they are a pain to do, 1/2 hour to remove but 2 hrs to replace the sodding things!

Why are you not supposed to turn the engine with the big nut at the points? I know it's been mentioned before but can't find anything relating as to why not.

Had problems with my PD carbs a while back but found that a bristle from a wire brush cleaned all the jets really well, not had a problem since

Looked at this on the net and it says the bikes will 'run' on E10 but with 'reduced driveability in cold weather'
