Given the inside diameter of the hose, any decent car parts shop should be able to sell you a couple of feet of it.

They're good for fuel pipe to!

Steve

PS: welcome by the way.

Sounds like a quick-action throttle then!

We spent money back in the 70's on special quick-action throttles that basically replaced the handgrip with one of a larger diameter - it was the only way around the "two handfuls of throttle" issue.

I have been riding a Bandit 1250 this week as a nice young man in a white van destroyed my Sprint.

It reminds me of the first time I ever rode a CB750 - it was an F1 in about 1977 (it was yellow and I'd borrowed it from a mate). The turbine-like smoothness of the engine, the transmission whine and the stifled exhaust. The wide bars and high frequency vibes through the footrests.

Don't get me wrong, the Bandit is as dull as ditchwater and the F1 in its day was a "superbike" - I loved it!

Best place would be to go to www.sohc4.net and speak to your compatriots - there are many more in the USA than here and they are closer!

... and they may have what you want.

No.
They run perfectly well on unleaded (and were designed that way in the 70's)

Not difficult but watch out for the little springs when you open up the switchgear!

« on: July 23, 2010, 02:23:34 PM »
I fitted a CB550K3 seat and tank to my 500/4 (in the avatar)

The tank is a straight swap, but it is larger than the 500 tank so won't really fit with the std seat.
The 550K3 seat fitted on after I modified the mounting brackets for the hinges as they were about 2" too far forward.

[where's the "bows down" smiley when you need it? ]

Hi Gerard.

Can't help with the 400/4 I'm afraid but Jim Moore used our CB750K0 and my CB900FZ for recent features.

Good luck with the feature.
Maybe I could put you in touch with one of my old university mates who was clocked at 104mph on the Lewes bypass in 1978 on his 400/4 - he was also featured in "Bike" mag that year...    ;D

There's an "engineering" solution for most problems. In the case of the fuel tank, a bag of old bolts and a gallon of Tesco's malt vinegar (see other threads) should do the trick...

As far as parts are concerned, the rear mudguard on a 400/4 is unobtanium, so if it is OK, do everything in your power to rescue it!

Got mine on Sat (17th)

One of the perks of a subscription (the other is a cheaper price)
