Hi Bill  I think Charlie would need to see the seat first to appraise If you can bring it over we can go to see him  In the mean time i will go and talk to him I think you would have to repair and powder coat the base then he can re upholster  Ross

« on: February 05, 2020, 12:35:14 PM »
Hi All   i have just bought some carb clamps to airbox (4 ) for my cb400 f2 they are Black in colour  They are marked as genuine parts   But another label states Made In India   My question is pre 1978 did Honda source supplies from either China  Taiwan or India  The guy i bought these from is adamant they are genuine  But my thoughts were back in the day all parts were Made In Japan I don't Know if modern type bikes are using foreign sorted parts ???  All your thoughts appreciated   Cheers  Ross

Just got my inlet rubbers back from Ash who has softened them Now I've come to fit them and noticed there are two different types ( didnt notice when taking them off  DOH ) Two marked 1&4 Two marked 2&3 Obviously to fit each cylinder   Question is are the numbers fitted uppermost on the corresponding cylinder  IE  cylinder No 1   mark 1 to top  mark 4 bottom  cylinder No2 2 to top  3  to bottom  ETC   Ive searched all service manuals and nothing on removing / refitting  Cheers Ross

« on: November 27, 2019, 03:00:17 PM »
All parts books I've seen list as 10mm  So assume no washer  Although think 12mm with washer should not cause a problem and may be even better   Ross

CB350/400 / Re: rear sprocket
« on: July 28, 2019, 01:25:17 PM »
Absolutely right TSD   But the original question was which side the nut should be Sprocket or Brake And assuming theres room it won't matter which way its fitted The spindle type i have is with chrome end with use of tommy bar and wrong for the F2( although fits ) The F2 should be a long bolt type and seems Nut  side to sprocket There is confusion within the parts book showing nut to sprocket and  service manual showing nut to brake?? As i  have no idea what the previous owner has done Just asking for clarification of nut position
