I've just taken a good look at the battery leads and they are well past there best and I doubt hat they are original. Does anyone know what gauge cable is used and where I can get the flag terminals from so I can make some up?
It seems that both battery connectors should be soldered flag terminal rings with a 6mm hole. The earth strap should have a flat 8mm ring on the other end and the live a flat 6mm ring? Anyone done this before and can give me a pointer please?

Thanks for the link Steve but I've already looked there. the OEM cable appears to be 10mm2, which is enough for 70amps. Everyone seems to only offer 16mm2 for battery connectors?

I bought some new leads for both the CB750 and the CB500 from CMSNL last year, they were in stock at that time so might still be available.

I just order from these guys, measure what length you need and 16mm is fine >>> https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Battery-Lead-Power-Strap-Earth-Bond-Leisure-Cable-Leads-16mm2-35mm2-Custom/202025281957?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=502026877084&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
