I know we are all into our bikes for different reasons but for myself it's all about riding them, always has been, always will be. Today I did another 100 miles on Hettie, the bike is running like a dream. The weather was perfect, the roads quiet and it was nothing more than a nice ride out, stopping of at a well known bike meeting place for a cuppa and having a natter with like minded enthusiastic bike riders. After almost 40 years of bike riding, I can honestly say it is still one of the best ways to spend a couple of hours and all for the price if a splash of fuel and cuppa. I consider myself very lucky to be a bike rider.....long may it last.

It's the return for all the time you've put into getting it rebuilt as well.
Agree about just the best way to while away some time, especially in this weather.
Talking to someone at the bike meet Sunday and he said exactly the words I think about riding home from work on a bike "it makes you just think about riding them and clears all the other stuff out your head" he was on a very nice GT750 watercoloured as well.
Planned to go to ace café tonight for Italian night, my starter brushes for my Honda haven't turned up yet so it'll be a land rover trip.

When I have to explain to people why we enjoy a trip out on the bike, I know they will never really understand my answer. I’ve just had a 1000 mile trip on the Wing in varying weather but it was far better than going in the car. Not sure who said it but I like the expression ‘When you are driving a car, peering through the windscreen, it’s just more TV but on a bike you are actually in the film’

K2-K6 I would have joined you at the Ace tonight on the Morini (gez, did someone just swear ::)) if I wasn't 100miles away working at the test track in Melton Mowbray! Of course 20 years ago my Thursday nights would be watching the mighty Dons at Wimbledon Speedway!

On similar lines to what Orcadian said; In a car you're looking at the scenery through the windscreen. On a bike, you're part of it.

Once a Nurse, always a Nurse Mike. I was tempted to put Rtd for retired after my handle but thought it may be interpreted as 'retarded' 😭😭😭

In a perfect illustration of bike v car, we new we'd be tight for time as was taking my son who's got to be early for school tomorrow. Left in the car after we thought the London evening traffic would be easing, didn't even get north of the river at Chiswick, just sitting and waiting so had to cry off turn back as we'd have so little time over there.
We're not far from Plough lane Laverda. Sadly about to be demolished soon to make way for football! As if we haven't got enough football facilities inuthis country already.
Which Morini do you have?

Julie, my O/H used to be a nurse, trained at Romford although originally from Dorset. She's now a midwife. Yes, once a nurse always a nurse. The NHS staff are all hero's and heroines in my book. Come September I'll be putting 'early rtd' on my handle :).
K2/K6, it's a 77 Morini Sport 350 I have, restored it a couple of years ago, great fun as all bikes are no matter where they are from ;D
Getting across the river at Chiswick Bridge is a no,no. Better off going over Kew Bridge if you can.

Very nice bike Dave. I've ridden one, not a sport, some years ago.
They go really well don't they especially for a three fifty, and V twins always sound so good.
This era of bikes they all looked and were so different compared to many of the current bikes, of which many look no different one from another.
