If you get this (and I really hope you do) will you be performing a teardown like Hettie! Would be a fantastic project on this site if you do...

Love this forum - you learn something new every day!

Yes, the disk does look anomalous.

Also:

I'm not sure is right - I thought where the speedo cable routes through was more "wire like", like this:

at least it is on my 75 400F - maybe it changed in later versions? I have a repro stay that looks like the one shown.

That said, I have limited knowledge of these machines and as we know, a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing  :)

Maybe some bits have been swapped out?

In any case, it still looks very interesting bike...

Who knows what it will go for but your estimate of 10K seems pretty close to me. It's a very rare beast indeed.

Yes, the images are a really useful resource - downloaded as well!!!

Yes Gareth, that would have been so much easier  :)

OK, I see what you mean.

However, I would rather just get a hose that fits, if at all possible.

The clip loops completely around the hose. In short, no - that won't work...

I've just received a new fuel hose from David Silvers. OD is 10mm (ID 5.5mm). Problem is, it won't pass through the retaining clip mounted on the carb, shown here:

I tried using a small section of hose to test and it is so tight it severely constricts the ID of the hose. It seems to me the clip would be happier with something smaller (8-9mm OD maybe?)

Anyway - can someone provide a link for a suitable fuel line that will happily work with the 400F.

Thanks for the feedback. Appreciated!

Yes Julie, definitely!! I'll let you know how I get on...

Thanks Al, I have exactly the same situation.  I don't feel so bad now ;-)

CB350/400 / Float Height Anomaly

I'm trying to adjust the float height. As you can see with the attached images, one side is set perfectly at 21mm (400F). However, when I check the other side there is a gap of about 1 and a bit mm. Laying the float on a flat surface shows no obvious twists or distortions.

I'm not sure what I should do next...

If running a standard carb setup, check under the seat. Is the air intake blocked / restricted?

It's worth looking at this

showing a 1972 CB350 in action - no idea on weight of rider or mods made to the bike but a lot of fun anyway...
