Hi,
At the moment I tend to have to change my CB750 battery every 12-16 months.... :-[
Used Yuasa, Bosch and others, none seem to last forever.
So I was wondering about using a trickle charger? are they worth it or is it best just to stick with replacing battery's?

When winter comes around I just cover my CB750 with a dust sheet and hook the battery up to the Optimate and leave it until the spring, my last battery lasted 10 years.

I use something like this to slowly keep batteries in good condition

Cheap but very effective, not as hands off as Spitfire's park and leave option but can leave them on for something like a week every month or two with no other intervention to keep a battery charged. They only charge at about 5 to 800 ma so very slow and gentle.

Depends. If you're using the bike every day you won't need to do anything.
If you like to keep your pride and joy away from the road salt, shitty weather etc, and not ride it over winter (like me) then best use an optimate. I've found the cold weather and not being used doesn't do batteries any good.

I use CTEKs on my bikes and cars that do not see regular use - similar to Optimate, and work well in my experience. Would pay for itself quite quickly if you're replacing batteries that often !

C-Tek, I have one for the car and one shared between the 2 bikes. Because the 911 and Harley both have active alarms, they soon go flat if not kept on top of. The Honda gets a go when the Harley looks charged up.
