I'm going to dismantle the points plate to clean it up. Ken is sending me some proper screws to replace the Allen Key Headed ones to prevent overtightening.

I agree David the main three back plate screws are pretty central. It the CB ones that are at the extreme end, I will see if there is a make on them when I strip down the plate.

All he had to say was that his big buddy Liz Hurley (read his autobiography) once sat on the seat and the price would rocket.  ;D

This celeb vehicle went for a packet

Yes it would have, sconnect th orange with white trace and light blue with white tace in the headlamp as they aint legal in UK. Just remember you need a 5/21 bulb in front indicator same as rear light
Thanks again Bryan, much appreciated.

I know it’s 101 stuff but you’re saying I need to change the current bulbs to the 5/21 when I disconnect the DLR?

Not necessarily, but realise you'll then have a total of 20kΩ resistance in a circuit... Personally I consider that a lot and it is not needed. The French manual, that has been composed in colloberation with Honda France, advises to replace plugcaps when they read 8kΩ or more. Claims made by some members of the international forum - and nowhere else! -that adding resistance is benificial for spark duration, have so far remained unproven. And even then it remains to be seen it will effect in better running.

Your back plate securing screw is nicely in the middle of its adjustment range👍

CB750 / Re: Wow this is the real deal 1968 prototype CB750

The notes say "only CB750" to use accelerator pump on carbs .... probably don't know about the F2 then, and also Keihin made  :)

Yes I though that too .. very complicated carbs too yet the 4 pre-production prototype bikes had 4x modified CL77 carbs sprayed with silver paint!

Not seen anything about the way he came by it ,which is a bit of a shame... but early days yet I suppose. Always nice to know the history after it was shipped to the USA. I guess it must have gone back to Japan at some stage but that's only a wild guess.
