What's the problem with it? Rubbing with steel wool should clean the disc surface ok. Wipe after with white spirit, let it dry. Good to go.

On cars I used to spin the wheels (usually front wheel on RWD) whilst applying the brakes having previously fitted a Wet & Dry paper  pad between disc & pad - usually 180 grit to break the glaze. The wife had the job of applying light pressure so when it ripped it was her fault.  lol

Back in the 1970's when unsold new cars were stored in fields near the ports one manufacturer actually supplied an insert to clean off storage surface rust!

Wire wool is probably easier - I have also found that the sponge type scouring pads are quite good - not White ones they are  too soft but the green ones - they will actually scratch windscreen glass.

I would just like them to look better there is minimal scoring and thought may be a clean up on a lathe might be the go but it says  on the Disc MIN THK 6 MM and I only have about 7 MM  THK now . So better not go down that path !.

 Depth 6 MM

Just skimmed mine, i like working with stainless, turns nicely. Would have been a lot easier if po hadnt drilled holes in it

My disk wasnt in great condition, but i only ended up having to take 0.2mm off per side

I used a flapper disk on the angle grinder and lightly passed it over mine, it took all the crud off and left no scoring.
Lightly being the key word here.
