Hi,
Could anyone tell me what the clips which hold the chrome trim to the seat are called?
They aren't shown on the parts diagrams at cmsnl or listed by Silvers. I got the bike out this morning to ride to work and found one end of the trim loose.
Thanks
Allan

I don't think they are available as a separate item, but can be fabricated from a felt nail by filing the head to fit in the groove in the trim, I did this on my k3

Totty, are they aluminum rivets or the flat clips? If rivets that slide in the rail, then i use Land Rover aluminum body rivets. Or as Mick said; Roofing, felt nails. Never thought of that one Mick ;)

Sorry it's the clip I need, the thing that's kind of like a washer with teeth.
I still have all of the rivets.

you can find similar clips at car body suppliers or paint shop, they use them to hold body trims and badges and often have assorted boxes of different types.

In that case there's a local place I know that opens outside of office hours that's worth a try.
I've also found these, the OD is larger but that may not matter so I've ordered some.

I've drawn a blank so far. The ones from ebay are too big to grip the rivet and the local shop didn't have anything similar.
I spent another hour on ebay with deliberately vague search terms reviewing the pictures and nothing looked suitable. If I could just figure out what this type of clip is called I'd at least know what to search for.
Does anyone have any other solutions or any that they'd be willing to sell?
Cheers
Allan

It is called a Star washer. Not sure what size you require but, here is a link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10mm-starlock-star-lock-washer-speed-lock-locking-washer-uncapped-x10-/200920440492?pt=UK_DIY_Material_Nails_Fixing_MJ&hash=item2ec7ca9eac

Thanks Trigger
I've found loads now I know what they're called - just need to measure up for the right size.
