One of my best mates and work colleagues has been really down in the dumps recently and I can't seem to snap him out of it. Anyway he has an '81 Kawasaki Z750 custom stashed in his lockup unloved for many years and I want to rekindle his interest in it. He abandoned it cos he is tight and the rear M/Cyl was knackered, so he grumbled about design faults etc and abandoned it. Also it doesn't have a kickstart which is bad news. It's his birthday soon and we never exchange presents but I am going to try to turn up at the pub with M/cyl in hand on or near his B/day and then he has no excuses. Anyone know if the M/cyl is common to other models and also would kickstart parts off a Z650 fit to convert it to kickstart and what does it entail. I had a '79 Z650B1 years ago but never touched the engine other than swapping carbs.

Which looks the same to me so why 2 different numbers?
If you can get the UK part number from a Kawa Dealer you put it in the part search at Motogrid and see if it fits anything else but if its not a US part as well their system wont find it mate
