Title: Carb needles 550 F1
Post by: Philh550 on August 29, 2020, 02:56:25 PM
Hi all
I have cleaned and rebuilt my carbs and have had the bike running.
Because I have pod filters and 4 into 1 exhaust I am about to fit bigger jets but noticed the needles on 2 and 3 carbs are lower down in the carb than 1 and 4 where the main jet sits.
Silly question ..... is this right ?
I have gapped the slides on the bench, checked the c clips are in the right grooves, and the new needles are the correct length.

Thanks  Phil

All inline now !  :)
Stripped cleaned, carefully rebuilt and now all 4 needles in a row.
If it helps anyone else I think the small springs and "top hats' inside the link holder were stuck or not seated correctly.
Anyway onwards and upwards, vac gauges next
Thanks Phil
