It's here in Alladins cave also inc Servuce manuals etc etc .. just scroll down for K1 list as the later one comes first
MEGA CB750K /F PARTS MANUALS SHOP MANUALS VJMC ARTICLES ETC ETC … WELL WORTH DOWNLOADING. MASSIVE DOWLOAD THOUGH!!

Maybe it's me? - but the two links at the bottom for the 'K0 - K8 Shop Manual' and 'Mega Parts Service and More' take me to the same place i.e. the Shop Manual which I've previously downloaded from Alladins Cave.
It works fine BUT you are not scrolling down far enough. That download has the Service manual first and then other manuals including the Parts Manulas CB750K0,K1 &K2 and K3,K4,K5 follow on. Can someone please try again as it works fine for me but of course I am hosting the files.

Apologies Ash, it was me!! I've just scrolled down very slowly and yes, it's there - note to self, 'must take things at a slower pace'! Cheers

Is there a downloadable K1 Part List available - I've looked in "Aladdin's Cave" but couldn't see it listed; unless I can't see the wood for the trees?
Cheers

I usually, just polish the metal with autosolve without removing any traces of acf50

That'd be right Pete, I read all this crap on the tinternet about how difficult it was to remove - should have just given it a go!

Thanks folks, I'm very pleased with the K1. I spent yesterday pawing all over it and taking loads of reference photos. It is a great bike and in remarkable original condition, it'll need a new paintset eventually and a few other parts replaced - NOS or good used OE when ever possible. My priority is to get it started and see where I go from there. So I drained the old fuel yesterday (minging stuff) and will need to treat the surface rust that lines the tank - ethanol is satin's liquid! I've been recommended 'Metal Rescue' to cure the tank - anyone used this stuff before, it's not cheap at about £30 for 414ml concentrate (makes a gallon), see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBQX5v4FmzIPete coated it in ACF50, a good move and it's done a good job. But I now want to remove it, so before I go just smear it and make it worse by using the wrong products/process, anyone got any experience of getting this stuff off?

Ok. So it’s snuggled down next to a Z.
What’s under the red/black cover?

Well, after a very short search for a decent 750 K1 I have bought UK Pete's Ruby Red, 20,648 mile, 1971 survivor and picked it up today. It's been standing unused for about 3 years with fuel in the tank, and it's minging. So my first job tomorrow is to empty the tank and give it a clean out as there is some internal surface rust to deal with - that'll hopefully stop my garage smelling like I've left a pair of 3 week old sweaty trainers, the socks, the sweatshirt and shorts in there..... There's a few little dings here and there, but nothing I'm bothered about and I'm looking forward to getting it started in due course, once 'normal safety precautions' are taken. All-in-all, I'm very happy with the bike and Pete is a really decent and genuine bloke - but then I guess many of you already know that. I now need to take some time over Christmas and think carefully what I want to do to it - in the meantime, here's a 'few' photos and no doubt I'll be picking your brains in the near future. Oh, and I've bought my first bit for it; an OE grab rail which was missing, and the fact that I fitted it before I loaded the bike into the van caused Pete some amusement.

This wasn't my 70's masterpiece, but I do have the side panels and tailpiece for spares....

I don't have a photo but I fitted Fiamm air horns in an attempt to make myself heard..
The compressor was fitted (bodged) onto the old horn mount - with associated exhaust heat and road spray...
The horns were mounted on the fairing brackets on the outside of the Rickman fairing (see avatar)
They were loud OK, but the delay between pressing the button, the compressor whirring into life and the noise coming out made it impossible to "beep" the horn. Only a sustained blast was possible.
And then the compressor faided due to being continually wet
Can't match the compressor driven airhorns, but these things I fitted in 79 to my Z750 twin when I was a dispatch rider in London and needed to send car drivers a little warning, just got waterlogged and were totally useless. Later, I fitted a big clear screen - clearly I'd been watching too much CHiPs on TV!

Well, it sure seemed like a good idea at the time! I dug out these photos of my old 71 K1 from back in May 78 after I fitted a fairing and ace bars to it - Rickman or a Dunstall I think? It didn't match the candy gold but looked great (well I though so anyway), especially after I fitted some Yoshimura stickers even though it was a bog-standard K1..........with a rack. BUT, those ace bars gave the turning circle of a London bus, so it all came off after less than 2 weeks! So I wondered what hideous bike modifications others are willing to own up to?
